Lately there has been an increased number of submissions in our gallery that are being faved. Can we please ask that people do NOT fave the deviations in our gallery. Most of the time they are faved by people who are new to the club or not a member. We feel faving works of art from our club is taking away credit from the original artist.

In the past we have tried notifying people that they faved, these notes were often ignored and it also didn't help much with the problem. Everyday we got new faves.
Deviantart is working on a group system although we don't know how long it will take before the rest of deviantart will be able to use this or if we can even change normal accounts into group accounts (#hq <- the first group on dA).

The problem of faving arouse last year when it was introduced that people could drop and drag artwork into collections. Now people don't even have to open the deviation to view it. That's why we get faving "sprees" where one person has faved nearly half the works in our gallery.

Can we ask that members check their collections and unfave anything from the club and fave the original artists work.

A solution we are thinking of is resubmitting artworks that have received more than 20 faves to clear the faves.

Another solution is to notify people that have often faved a few works of art in one go to unfave.

The last resort which we don't want to do is send warnings to the people that continue to fave. After the 2nd warning to ban the person who continues to fave, we really don't want to resort to that though because it's not nice.


We'd like to know your views on this and possible suggestions to solve the problem.
