Admins have permission to ban people who abuse the club by constantly submitting content that does not correspond to deviantART or LxLight's club rules (see below for more details), racist, offensive or discriminating comments towards staff and/or other members.

The 10 Yoai-tastic rules of LxLight Club


1. Please read all the rules before submitting.
    If we feel that you neglected to even read this journal, we will not submit your work. Joining as a Member means you automatically agree to the following rules.

2. Your work only.
    Please follow the deviantART's rules.

We do not allow copied or traced work
This rule was already in place but has seem to have been ignored so I'm giving everyone a reminder. I know deviantART does allow tracing according to FAQ #304: Do you remove copies and trace-over art?. As a club we must abide by deviantART's rules however because of the many complaints about traced/copied art being in our gallery I have decided that any submissions that are found to be copied or traced will be removed.

You may use a reference however you must provide a link to the reference used. If not and you are found out your artwork will be temporarily removed until you provide the correct references. Read: FAQ #306: Does "Crediting" let me use whatever I want?

I'd also like to encourage everyone to be original and draw your own art, people will appreciate it

3. LxLight only.
Please send in works that revolve around L and Light, not one of the characters. Other Death Note characters are allowed providing they aren't the main focus of the artwork/fanfic.
If you wish to send in artwork of any one the Death Note Characters then you may submit to our favourites "Featured Folder" lxlight.deviantart.com/favouri… that way they will still be seen.


4. Quality of Artwork.
    We are no longer accepting doodles, work in progresses, or sketches. If you intend to colour the lineart, send us the coloured version. If you have a doujinshi, please send us your favorite page. Motivationals or the like are also NOT allowed. However funny and amusing they might be please submit them to the following favourites folder: lxlight.deviantart.com/favouri…

Before sending in your artwork please consider to correct the following common mistakes if possible:
- Lines in your paper like from a writing block or graph paper. Writing on the page that looks like school notes or textbook writing, not related to DeathNote.
- Edges of the paper, binder-rings or folds of your sketchpad.
- Damage to the drawing such as wrinkling, crumpling, folds, dirt stains and smudges on the paper(I know sometimes these can't be avoided though if excessive can ruin a good drawing)
- Pixelated or low quality picutres (when taken with a camera)

This is purely for aesthetic reasons. Presenting your work a neat as possible will attract more viewers

What's the difference between a sketch and a drawing?
Sketching is a quick thought. Drawing is taking the time to add light, shadows, real perspective, value and possible color. Not to be confused with amateur art.

What's a doodle?
A piece of work that is hastily-drawn works with no apparent care given to the outcome of the work. A piece of artwork that contains stick figures or blob figures in place of fully drawn characters.

5. If your fic is multi-chapters, please send us the first chapter only.
    Please, only the first chapter. That way they can see the rest of the fanfic on your account.
There will soon be a journal for multi-chaptered fanfics which will be updated once a week.

6. Please send us quality works
    This means with very few grammar or spelling mistakes. Re-read over your work before submitting and correct any errors, please. Or ask a friend to beta read

7. No p0rnz plz
Even in fanfiction we still won't allow pornography, nudity is allowed providing a mature filter is applied. Since the submission admins don't have time to read through all fanfics sent in we rely on you to make sure your work does not contain porn or is censored with a link off-site to example Y-gallery(make sure you put in your settings than only members can view) or Adultfanfiction.net to the original version. This club is for people of all ages remember. This is also to protect writers from receiving a ban from deviantArt for submitting pornographic fanfiction since it has happened to some and we wish to prevent such things happening to our members. It's better to be warned than to be ignorant FAQ #251: You prohibit the submission of 'pornographic literature'; what do you consider this to be?

8. Reporting Art
If you think someone has not followed our submission rules example submitting traced works or ponography in fanfics then please NOTE the club to remain anonymous. The admins will decide if the piece should be removed from our gallery or they will try to contact the artist and explain which rule they have broken. The artist will be given a period of 7 days to correct their art. If they do not comply after that period their art will be removed from the gallery.

9. Good quality pictures.
Please send us in pictures that aren't pixelated or contain large areas of light/darkness due to poor lighting or camera flash. You may add a little decoration to your photograph though this isn't entirely necessary. If using stock in a Photomanipulation then credit the owner of the stock used.

10. Thought through cosplays.
Think of taking a picture of your cosplay as making a piece of art. Put effort into things like hair(If you can't afford an "L" or "Light" wig then try to buy a wig from your local dress-up/costume shop for a low price and cut/style the hair yourself), make-up and clothing that the character wears. I know nobody can ever look exactly 100% like the character they cosplay. Try not to closet cosplay (www.urbandictionary.com/define…), I know you can't exactly make L's jeans from scratch but for Light try to wear clothes he's likely to wear.
Make a theme or scene and act it out when taking the picture, it will look more creative and who knows some of the things you come up with could be fun. Having a good setting or interesting backdrop can also aid in drawing attention to your cosplay

You don't have to go as detailed as that and you can probably find a black wig at a local costume shop if you can't get hold of one on eBay and cut/style it

How to Submit

Please read the Submission Rules above first!!!

Anyone who has joined as a member can submit work however the submissions will not be added automatically. They must first be approved by a member of staff to make sure they correspond with the club and deviantArt's rules and are subjected to vote.

You can suggest faves of non-LxLight yaoi couples. These will not end up in the main gallery but the faves section instead.

The club will not accept anything that is too explicit (this includes masturbation).
We have the right to turn down any submissions for being to explicit and will never accept any kind of pornography. this includes fanfiction too.
